Our supported accommodation > Montfort House
Montfort House accommodates people with complex mental health, addiction or other specialist support needs.
We have 16 self-contained studio flats and offer innovative approaches to manage the individual needs of our residents.
We work in a person-centred, trauma and psychologically informed way to support our residents in their recovery and help them to work towards their own goals of more independent living. Many of our residents have been on the streets for considerable lengths of time and have not coped well in more traditional hostel settings.

Supporting people with complex needs
Homelessness can often be both a cause and a consequence of complex mental health challenges, addiction, and other specialist support needs. Without stable housing and tailored care, these overlapping issues can lead to cycles of crisis, hospitalisation, or time spent in unsafe environments.
Montfort House provides more than just a place to live – it offers a safe, structured setting where residents can begin to stabilise, recover, and access the specialist support they need. With expert, on-site staff and a trauma-informed approach, we help individuals take meaningful steps toward wellbeing, independence, and long-term security.
Jamie’s story
Jamie came to The Passage in 2022 – he had spent 10 years living on the street and suffered from depression when the relationship with his wife broke down. An injury also meant that he was unable to work, so one thing led to another and Jamie found himself street homeless. His weight plummeted to dangerously low levels and he had spent time in a hostel and in rehabilitation.
“After I lost my job, I was very depressed. I lost a lot of weight, I lost a sense of myself, and I lost touch with my family. My doctor referred me to The Passage and they helped me so much. I enrolled into college for adult literacy classes . I found work as a gardener in Battersea Park – this was great for my mental health, and I felt very happy”. – Jamie, Former Monfort House Resident.
Thankfully, we were able to help Jamie. He is planning his next step and would like to meet his son
